The Ghana Education Service (GES) has disbursed funds to Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) across the country to facilitate the 2026 WASSCE practical examinations.

According to a statement issued on April 21, 2026, the Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi, confirmed that the funds are intended to cover all practical-related expenses, including the procurement of essential materials and resources required for the exams.

GES explained that this intervention is aimed at ensuring a smooth and efficient examination process nationwide. By covering the cost of practicals, the Service seeks to reduce the financial burden on parents and guardians while allowing students to focus fully on their academic work.

The Service also directed regional, district, and school authorities to strictly apply the funds for their intended purpose to promote accountability and efficiency. Management assured that monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to track the utilization of the funds and maintain high standards in exam administration.
