Adorable Photos of Prempeh College Uniform ; Prempeh College is a public secondary boarding school for boys in Kumasi, Ghana’s capital city and headquarters of the Ashanti Region. The Asanteman traditional authority, the British Colonial Government, the Methodist Church Ghana, and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana formed the institution in 1949.
The school was based after Eton College in England and is named after the King of Ashanti, (Asantehene) Sir Osei Tutu Agyeman Prempeh II, who provided the land on which it was erected.
The school ranked first in matriculation at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2004, with 441 students admitted, and second in 2012, with 296 students admitted, and is considered one of Ghana’s best secondary schools.
Prempeh College Uniform
A green shirt with the college crest is part of the school uniform. Every day, students wear this to class. Students wear a green jacket with the college crest embroidered on it for ceremonial purposes. The college blazer (suit) has been in use since 1949, was phased out in the 1980s, and then reintroduced in 2003. The college suit is worn for formal occasions such as speech days and graduation ceremonies.
