UEW Releases Approved Academic Calendar for 2026/2027 Academic Year

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has released its approved academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic year, outlining key dates for registration, arrival of students, lectures, examinations, matriculation, and other academic activities.
The calendar covers both Regular Education (RE) and Distance Education (DE) students for the first and second semesters.

First Semester
Registration for continuing regular students will run from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, September 27, 2026, while continuing distance students are expected to register from Saturday, August 29 to Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Registration for fresh students, both regular and distance, is scheduled from Monday, August 31 to Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Fresh regular students are expected to arrive on campus on Saturday, September 12, 2026, with continuing regular students arriving on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Orientation for fresh regular students will take place from Monday, September 14 to Friday, September 18, 2026, while fresh distance students will have their orientation from Wednesday, September 16 to Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Lectures for regular students are scheduled to begin on Monday, September 21, 2026, and continue through Friday, December 4, 2026. Tutorials for distance students will run from Saturday, September 19 to Sunday, November 29, 2026.
The university has scheduled the mid-semester examinations for both regular and distance students from Saturday, October 24 to Saturday, October 31, 2026.
The 31st Congregation (First Session) is scheduled for Monday, November 2 to Saturday, November 7, 2026.
End-of-semester examinations for both regular and distance students will take place from Saturday, December 5 to Sunday, December 20, 2026, after which regular and distance students are expected to go down on Monday, December 21, 2026.
Second Semester
For the second semester, registration for continuing regular students will take place from Monday, December 28, 2026 to Friday, January 8, 2027, while continuing distance students will register from Saturday, January 2 to Sunday, January 17, 2027.
Fresh and continuing regular students are expected to arrive on Saturday, January 16, 2027.
Lectures for regular students will begin on Monday, January 18, 2027, and end on Friday, April 16, 2027. Tutorials for distance students will run from Saturday, January 16 to Sunday, April 18, 2027.
Mid-semester examinations for both regular and distance students are scheduled for Saturday, February 27 to Sunday, March 7, 2027.
End-of-semester examinations for regular students will run from Monday, April 19 to Friday, May 7, 2027, while distance students will write their examinations from Saturday, April 24 to Sunday, May 9, 2027.
Regular students are scheduled to go down on Saturday, May 8, 2027, with distance students following on Monday, May 10, 2027.
Graduation and Other Key Dates
The calendar also sets out important dates for final-year students and graduation activities.
The 32nd Congregation (First Session) is scheduled for Monday, August 23 to Saturday, August 28, 2027, while the Second Session will take place from Monday, September 20 to Saturday, September 25, 2027.
Special resit examinations for final-year regular students will be held from Monday, June 28 to Friday, July 2, 2027, while distance final-year students will write their special resit examinations from Saturday, July 3 to Wednesday, July 14, 2027.
