URGENT CALL FOR JUSTICE: FAMILY DEMANDS ANSWERS OVER DEATH OF MRS. THERESA BOAKYE DUA
The death of Mrs. Theresa Boakye Dua has left a young family devastated and raised serious questions about maternal healthcare, patient safety and accountability in Ghana.
Theresa, a young wife and mother, was laid to rest on Friday, August 28, 2026, just 19 months after her marriage. According to her husband, she had gone to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital) for a scheduled elective Caesarean section. What was expected to be a safe medical procedure, he says, ended in a tragedy that has left their newborn son without his mother.
In a deeply emotional account shared ahead of her burial, Theresa’s husband described the ordeal as a nightmare and accused medical personnel and the healthcare system of failing his wife when she needed them most.
These are serious allegations that require proper investigation and should not be treated as established facts without an independent determination.
