Muslims In Ghana Begin Their 30 Days Fasting Journey Today.
It’s another exciting year as our dear Muslim brothers and sisters begin their 30 days fasting journey today which is Thursday, 23rd March 2023 in the Holy month of Ramadan.
This was announced by Sheikh Armiyawo Sheibu, who happens to be the spokesperson for the national chief imam after confirmation from the chief imam of Bawku. ” The report received and source we are getting from Bawku is that the moon has been sighed there.
The information has been well authenticated based on communication between the Bawku chief imam and the office of the national chief imam. There is no doubt that, on this ground, and by the chief imam’s mandate as the supreme leader of the Muslims in this country, Muslims will begin fasting on 23rd of March 2023,” he announced.
Fasting in the holy month of Ramadan it’s mandatory for all healthy Muslims as it’s one of the five(5) pillars of Islam. During the season of Ramadan, not only do Muslims stay away from eating and drinking but also desist from immoral acts such as fighting, stealing, relinquishing all sexual activities, and others.
In this month, every Muslim tries as much as possible to keep up with good morals and follow the principles of the religion like, observing the five daily prayers, alms given, reading the holy Qur’an, and many others. By doing so, they believe it attracts blessings from Allah to them and also accepts their prayers.
On this note, the KNUST Notice Board wishes all our Muslim brothers and sisters Ramadan Mubarak.
