KNUST and AFOS Foundation Ghana Join Forces to Boost Employability for Women in Tech
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the AFOS Foundation Ghana, aimed at enhancing employability opportunities for women in technology. This strategic partnership seeks to bridge the gap in the tech industry, where women are underrepresented.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson emphasized KNUST’s commitment to delivering tangible results, rather than merely signing agreements. This sentiment was echoed by AFOS Project Lead Hanna Schlingmann, who highlighted the crucial role of the KNUST E-Learning Centre in ensuring the project’s success.
To support the initiative, Prof. Asante Eric Appau confirmed that KNUST will provide digital learning support, further solidifying the university’s dedication to fostering a skilled and tech-savvy workforce.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by several officials, including Mrs. Abigail Dzama Anderson, Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, and Mr. Isaac Berko.
This partnership is a significant step towards promoting gender equality in the tech industry and providing women with the skills and resources needed to succeed. As a leading institution in Ghana, KNUST’s collaboration with the AFOS Foundation Ghana is poised to drive meaningful change and empower the next generation of women in tech.
