The last State of CABEESA address was delivered by the current president Her Excellency Joyce Adjei on August 19, 2023, at the College’s conference room. The address covered the administration of the formal president Ebenezer Korankye Antwi to,  Joyce Adjei’s administration. All participants including the executives of the college,  executives of the various faculties under the college, departmental executives under the three faculties of the college, media personnel, and college members were all enlightened and taken into the journey of achievements of this current administration since they came to office. Her Excellency Joyce Adjei’s address covered areas like the social, health, academics, and entertainment sectors of the college.

Speaking on welfare, she said “There could not be a definition of a successful life that does not include the service of others” She quoted John Bush. She continued that, the administration led by Ebenezer Korankye Antwi and herself believed in giving back to society and hence, they started with the Care for the Need project which saw the donation of items and an undisclosed amount of money to the orphanage and street children.

Still adhering to the community call, she disclosed that the office of the women’s commissioner at the college embarked on a menstrual health campaign at the Ayeduase R/C basic school to help educate the young teenagers on how best they could keep themselves during their menstrual periods of which sanitary pads were donated to them to help them during their one month journey.

The administration also saw the implementation of the CABEESA food bank project which saw the disbursement of food items such as rice, oil, sardine, mackerel, spaghetti, and milo to 60 students from the college.

The office of the Women’s Commission collaborated with women in science to organize educational talks for all women in the college after the mid-semester examination. 

PROJECTS.

She continued to throw more light on the project “The Antwi- Adjei administration” had put in place in the various faculties in the college. Addressing the house on projects undertaken, the administration collaborated with the Department of Ceramics which is under 

the Art Faculty to renovate their locker rooms and that project is still underway. She continued that, the administration saw the starting of the renovation of the faculty of the Built environment sitting area which she said had been halted for lack of funds, and that it will be completed once the money is received. There was a collaboration with the Dean of the Faculty of Art and the President of the Art Society to renovate the Art society washroom and the faculty’s old site. 

To ensure the successful running of the college senate, she revealed that, the administration had procured free robes for the speaker, clerk, and Marshal of the August house. 

In promoting climate change, trees were planted at the tech police station and again, the office of the General Secretary organized a Write Up which aimed at mitigating climate change through artistry. The first pitch was successfully organized of which the final pitch will soon commence.

The office of the financial secretary also organized a one-week E-switch card registration for the members of the college, That project she said, was not only to help finalists acquire an E-switch card which is necessary for their national service but the college as a whole. 

SOCIAL. 

With the motive of reducing depression and enabling a conducive environment for studies, her Administration organized the first-ever CABEESA week celebration which included activities like the official Monday, where members were entreated to dress officially to class. On Wednesday, there was a rep your jersey/ rep your school day which had some cocktail provisions for both faculties. On Friday, there was a symposium in collaboration with DoSA and Wistem which had seasoned speakers lecture the students on personal grooming and personal leadership. In the evening of Saturday, the college had it socializing at the faculty of Built Environment car park where members of the college partied to release some of the stress accumulated. 

Sports activities were organized and Aerobic sessions for all members of the college to ensure unity and promote socialization among students in the college. 

HEALTH. 

Speaking on health, she said, that to ensure the well-being of the students in the college,  the office of the Women’s Commission organized a health screening program that provided

services such as Hepatitis B and C tests, Eye screening, Dental, Syphilis tests, Hemoglobin levels, Blood groups, Malaria tests, etc. The office of the women’s commissioner also embarked on a breast cancer awareness campaign that sought to educate the women of the college on the effects of breast cancer, its symptoms, and its consequences.
