Faith to finish indeed. According to verified information, a letter of misconduct has been served to the Head of Properties for 2021–2022, KNUST SRC. The letter claims that a syndicate was established by Mr. Joseph Amankwah, Michael Abuah’s Head of Properties, and a few SRC Executives from the 2021–2022 cohort.
Under the pretext of providing them with housing, their newly formed group coerced innocent and defenseless KNUST students into paying extortionate amounts of money. The Otumfuo Osei II Hostel (SRC Hostel ) was promised to house these students.
This dishonest organisation, which was openly led by the Head of Properties, amassed more than 100,000 Ghana Cedis (Ghs 100,000.00) from the students and distributed it amongst itself.
According to internal investigations, Michael Abuah served as the syndicate’s principal leader. His Head of Properties was employed to safeguard his integrity. Michael Abuah and his group neglected to give these students their money back after failing to offer them accommodations in the SRC.
Some of these youngsters reported to school from home, while others shared a bed with college students. Due to this, some students brought members of their families to meet the then-KNUST SRC President. The President relocated his room and didn’t answer calls because of the pressure he was under.
The brave ones approached the Dean of Students with their concerns. Some students had to wait months with intense pressure before receiving their money.

Michael Abuah in interaction with friends denied these accusations and blamed some of his executives for using his name to perform these deals. The KNUST Deputy Registrar for Legal Services Division has invited Mr Joseph Amankwah Adjei, Head of Properties and a student from the Department of Statistics & Actuarial Science, to appear before the committee not as a WITNESS but as a SUBJECT OF INVESTIGATION
He is therefore given 10 days which ends on the 28th of August to furnish the committee with grounds upon which he intends to defend or exculpate himself. He is also asked to exercise his constitutional right to be represented at the committee’s sittings by a lawyer of his choice, call a witness on his behalf, and to hear the evidence the committee has against him.
