As part of its efforts to assist students with ongoing school placement concerns, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced that all placement resolution centers across the country will remain open even after students return to school.
According to a statement signed by the Ministry’s spokesman and copied to EducationWeb, all placemen resolution centers across Ghana’s 16 regions will open and continue to operate beyond April 4.
In a press statement, Kwasi Kwarteng remarked, “The Ministry of Education commends qualified candidates, parents, guardians, and the public for their cooperation received since the announcement of the 2021 computerized school placement.”
Following the assurance, the Ministry of Education has urged the general public, particularly students and parents, to remain calm and assured that there are sufficient vacancies in various public second-cycle institutions for eligible students.
In a similar development, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that 2021 BECE graduates who were automatically enrolled in a Grammar school will now be able to transfer to a public TVET institution.
The Education Service said in a statement seen by EducationWeb that candidates who took the BECE for School in 2021 can go to the GNAT Hall in Accra or the Regional Solution Centre with their details for assistance.
“If you were automatically placed in a Grammar school and you want to change to a TVET institution please go to the GNAT Hall in Accra or the Regional solution centre with your particulars assistance,” the GES stated on Thursday.
It also said students satisfied with their school placement from today can visit their placed second cycle school to commence the admission processes for enrolment to start academic activities for the 2022 academic year.
“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to remind parents, guardians and students, that admission processes for first-years in all Senior High/Technical schools are going on smoothly,” the management said yesterday.
The admission or admission process the Service indicated does not involve payment or collection of money, thus under no circumstance should a parent, guardian or student pay any amount of cash to a teacher or head of school.
“School authorities are advised that under no circumstances should there be a demand for money that might obstruct the admission process of any placed kid,” according to a statement signed by Cassandra, a GES spokesman.
