Have you ever done something good and for that deed you were given a present? If so, that is what we call a reward. A reward is anything that is given in acknowledgment of a service rendered, an effort made or an achievement gained. From school to the workplace and in the entire world, there are rewards given for hardwork and others. Rewards could be big or small, tangible or intangible. Rewards can come in different forms and are of different types. For example, at a school event a reward could be a stack of books or stationery and in a workplace, a paid vacation or a pay raise.

They are one of the easiest forms of motivation in any given area. From saying thank you to handing the lucky recipient a check for a large sum of money, rewards can push anyone to their maximum limit. Intrinsically, rewards satisfy people. Rewards are quite meaningful in this sense and affect people more emotionally than physically. A worker who is given duties that are related to his likes is quite an outstanding reward in his eyes. In the same way, rewards have extrinsic effects. These rewards affect people and satisfy them in the short term and tackle immediate likes.

Rewards, in the working realm, are given to employees in their tenures. Every employee wants an award for the things he does for the company or organisation. An award, monetary benefits or recognition for a better position can be a reward. Even convenient times for working and working from home could also be seen as rewards.

Receiving a reward can be quite a memorable and wonderful experience. Always remember that even though the effort or deed you offer may be small, the reward for it can be quite great. Anything can be a reward.
