CETAG Call Off Strike, left UTAG ; The National Council of the Ghanaian Colleges of Education Teachers Association (CETAG) has called off its strike over the failure to implement the 2017-2020 service conditions.

The council said in a statement that the certification of January 2022 pay had validated the requirements’ implementation.

This means that beginning on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, teaching activities will continue in all 46 public colleges of education.

Despite the end of the strike, the council stated that it had discovered some “disproportionate irregularities” in the payment of areas.
The statement stated, “Unequivocally, the leadership of CETAG would like to voice its extreme disgust and severe concern over the manner in which the payment of the 2017-2020 CoS arrears has been implemented.”

“CETAG expects that stakeholders will take the necessary efforts to address the situation, including the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) paying in full all due arrears in February 2022,” it added.

It also wants the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to “take steps to re-engage the leadership of CETAG to finalize the 2021 CoS talks before the end of February 2022,” according to the report.
