GES automatically recruits college of education graduates rather than university graduates throughout the recruitment process. The minister of eductaion, Dr Adutwum explained why it is SO on GBC this morning.

According to the minister of education, the country now has more trained teachers from the college of education who are specifically trained to teach than it did previously.

“Some say I have a degree and can teach elementary school, so why are you choosing someone who went to a college of education over a degree holder?

People who work at colleges of education are bonded; it’s a legal relationship that has been established with them, and it’s not for naught because there was a teacher shortage once upon a time.

Now that we don’t have a teacher shortage, some people argue, “Why are you prioritizing institutions of education?” You know, the problem we have in Ghana is that even if we don’t have a teacher shortage, we still don’t have teachers in every classroom, and this is a deployment dilemma.”

Education Minister. He claims that posting for college education graduates will be available this week.
