UTAG TO INTENSIFY STRIKE.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) was interviewed by a radio station today with regards to the strike action put in place on Monday, 2nd August, 2021 which began at midnight of the aforementioned day.

The president of the association, Professor Charles Marfo who also serves as the Provost of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences was interviewed by NEAT 100.9 FM during their morning session concerning the strike action they have taken.

Professor Marfo told the news host, Mr. Kwesi Aboagye, about the association’s intention to undertake a different process if the government continues to ignore them.

During the interview, it was brought to light by the members of UTAG here in KNUST that the government portrayed a lukewarm attitude towards addressing the complaints of the association. They bemoaned that the Ministries of Education, Finance and Employment and Labour refused to show the government would meet their demands.

As a result of this, the strike will continue until the government addresses their grievances have been addressed.
