A scholarship is a gift or payment given to a student to help them pay for their education. It is given to them based on their academic or other achievements. Generally, scholarships are awarded to deserving students who have excelled academically. Aside from academic work, there are grants available for persons who desire to pursue informal education. Scholarships in Ghana are packages accessible to Ghanaian students from the four corners of the country.
All Ghanaians are eligible and qualified to participate in any scholarship program in Ghana if and only if they meet all of the requirements to apply for the scholarship.

Beneficiaries of local scholarships are only eligible for benefits from the source if they desire to attend school in Ghana. There’s also an international scholarship available for students who want to pursue their education outside of Ghana, whether in Africa or overseas.
Categories of Scholarships in Ghana
There are different categories of Ghana scholarships. There are scholarships for JHS students, SHS students, and tertiary level students ( Nursing training , teacher training and university ). Every scholarship has its own set of prerequisites and credentials.

Nkosohen Scholars Program
This is a local scholarship for the people and citizen in the this local community. Only students from the community who are willing and ready to study and further their education are eligible to apply for it.
Akua Kuenyehia Foundation (AKF) Scholarship Scheme
This is a foundation scholarship scheme established to promote girl child education. It is open for all females who will enter the junior high level, senior high school and or tertiary schools. It is open for girls who have completed any of the levels of education that will like to continue but has no support.
Secondary Education Improvement Project (SEIP)
As the name goes secondary improvement means to equip needy students with the necessary support to enhance their education. This scholarship extends its hands to the students in vocational schools too.
Vodafone Ghana Scholarship Scheme
Vodafone, a well effective network in the world has also opened a scholarship for all students being it JHS, SHS, or Tertiary students to help them attend and acquire knowledge in any of their desired institutions.
Galaxy International School
Galaxy international school scholarship is an institution offering jhs and shs students the opportunity to study free of charge in their noble institution. This opportunity is given to only students who only passes their entrance exams.
Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED)
CAMFED an organization set to fund and support girl child in Ghana. Empowering the ladies in the community by giving them scholarships to study both in Ghana and outside Ghana. All females are eligible for this scholarship.
