Ghana’s unemployment rate continues to rise year after year. Due to a lack of employment opportunities after graduation, some students become depressed and others become involved in social vices. On today’s Knust Notice Board, we bring you an uplifting story about a young guy who graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and is now establishing a name for himself.
David Appah, a 25-year-old KNUST alumnus, is now self-employed after investing his NSS allowance in an aquaculture business.
The young man stated that his firm is providing him with a significant amount of income, and that his family has been quite supportive of his endeavor. Before beginning PAY.
David Appah earned a BSc in Natural Resources with a major in Fisheries and Aquaculture. David Appah, a recent graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, is now self-employed after using the skills he learned in school to create his own modest business.
David, a 25-year-old Ghanaian, stated in a short documentary produced by the World Food Programme that he studied Natural Resource Management with a major in Fisheries and Aquaculture.
The young man chose to save his GHc599 allowance during his national duty and invest in an aquaculture business that was partially sponsored by a co-founder. The fish pond now produces massive catfish that are sold through creative marketing, which David claims is able to keep him afloat. The young guy went on to say that he feels young people like himself can accomplish a lot in the field of agribusiness, and that all that is required is for government and responsible parties to establish an enabling environment.
