Conti Katanga Clash: We went to Rescue Joshua Budu – University Hall Reveals
The KNUST SRC held a public screening exercise for all aspirants of this year’s SRC elections on Saturday, 3rd July, 2020 at the Great Hall of KNUST.
This exercise commenced peaceful and continued as such until the unfortunate happened during the screening of the Presidential Candidates.
The clash of The Academicians and The Gentlemen, Unity Hall and University Hall.The prequel of this event was the brutality of Mr. Joshua Budu, who is a postgraduate student in KNUST and also one of the brains and core team member of Master Michael Abuah’s campaign team. Following the reportage of various media houses, this tassel was alleged to be done by some residents of University. hall.
University hall JCRC has released a communique to debunk all disruptive acts traced to the hall in accordance with the SRC public screening. The communique stated clearly that, “The University Hall does not condone acts of Vandalism and Hooliganism”. In addition, the communique affirmed the ultimate goal of the hall, ” To promote welfare of students and other members of the university community through proper advocacy pitch against radicalism”.
The communique further rebutted all arguments tracing the brutality that happened to Mr. Joshua Budu to the Hall. From the JCRC, Katangees went to the rescue of Mr. Joshua Budu after a scuffle ensued between him and some students whose names were not mentioned.
As stated in the communique, Mr. Joshua Budu welded a broken glass to prevent students from entering the great hall and that subsequently resulted in the tassel.
The communique concluded with an encouragement from The JCRC to all media outlets to exercise due diligence in their reportage and publishing of news events.
