With each passing day, the competitions on campus continues to become the interest of the people. From the tight competition of the faculties to the vetting of the various aspirants, the entire campus is in a whole new mood. Even in the lecture halls, the aspirants come to solicit for votes, each with his or her own motives. Among the lot who came to the lecture halls, there was one who never gave up. He is determined to win no matter the difficulties he may face. He is Duah Ahenkorah Louis who is running for the president of the College of Arts and Built Environment Students Association (CABESA).

Duah Ahenkorah Louis, also known as O’Neal is a brother, was born on 22nd August, 1999 to Mr. Nelson Dafour and Mrs. Veronica Dafour. Truth be told, some students saw him as a nuisance but honestly I was captivated by his determination to make his voice heard by the people. Even with all the irritated looks directed towards him, he stood fearlessly and voiced out his thoughts. As he made his way to leave the lecture hall, I pulled him aside and inquired, “After all the bored looks and murmurs, you still come back determined. What pushes you to?” Laughing, he replied, “Ever since I set foot on campus, my heart has been drawn to the needs of the people. Moved, I sat down with a couple of friends and discussed the various issues our college has been facing and therefore I decided to run for college president. The first time, I lost but I would not let it deter me from trying once more. With my goal to help create a more enabling environment to for teaching and learning within the college, I know when I am given the position I will not rest until I succeed.”

Shocked at his statement, I asked him, “Do you not fear losing again?” He said, “The only thing I fear his shirking my responsibilities, nothing else and I know with God I will not fail for it is said in the Good Book, ‘For man proposes but God disposes.’ I had so many more questions but he was pulled away by a fellow course mate towards another lecture hall. Thinking back to that time, I realized that one must be brave to face reality with its demerits for in these failures is where we will find our strengths. This is the man who taught me this. He is Duah Ahenkorah Louis and he is the Braveheart of CABESA.
