Beautiful Photos Adisadel College School Uniform ; Adisadel College, or “ADISCO,” is a boarding school for Anglican boys in Cape Coast, Ghana. Adisadel College is one of Africa’s oldest senior high schools. In 2003, Africa Almanac placed it tenth out of the top 100 best high schools in Africa, based on educational excellence, student participation, alumni strength and activities, school profile, internet and news presence.
The school uniform is a black and white striped shirt with black shorts, which corresponds to the college’s primary colors. The unusual color combination is known as “zebra” because of its resemblance to the stripes of that animal species.
The unusual costume has garnered Adisco pupils the moniker “zebra guys,” which is unsurprising given their appearance. Students in the former Form One through Form Five stream wore blue shirts and brown khaki shorts, while those in the Sixth Form wore white shirts and brown shorts prior to the adoption of this style of uniform in the 1990s.
