“A debt we owe to those who came before us and a moral responsibility to make things right and chart a course for change.”
It is the same old thing. Reign after reign, different parties are given the mandate to sit down and do absolutely nothing while the people suffer the consequences. The Student Representative Council (SRC) lays wasted before our eyes, completely underutilized without a doubt. The odd part about this is they turn a blind eye to all they see and only fulfil all what they promise to do yet all these things have already been done by the previous parties. From the promise of better transparency to the usual failures, there is nothing new under the sun. The focus of the people is not in their sights and they only act as puppets to their peers. When will all this come to an end? When will there be a change? When will the old banners draped on the walls change to new ones?
It is evident that a new path is charted towards the interests and needs of the people. A change that will leave an impact so big it resounds over and over again like echoes in a large cave. Such a change that will be marked on the hearts of the students. There will never be a change until we let in the right man. Who is he? He is the one who will chart a course, turning the system upside down positively. A new era is beginning and this starts with Mohammed Ali.
He is a man that stands for unity under the SRC. Holding this firm belief in a unified front, together we will conquer all obstacles that lay before us. Hopes of better leadership and transparency and accountability in our finances handled by the SRC will become a reality. Gone will be the days when empty promises pass away like the breeze. A mighty wind is blowing on campus, charting a course for change. Let us launch this mantra around campus, sealing the uprising of a new era so that we may make a collective contribution to the development of a better KNUST. Let us follow the one who will help us turn KNUST into what it is to be. Let us choose Mohammed Ali.
