GES Announces 2025 Examination Dates for BECE and WASSCE
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the examination dates for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
2025 Examination Schedule:
- BECE (School Candidates): June 9 – 16, 2025
- WASSCE (School Candidates): August 4 – September 19, 2025
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will communicate the registration period for candidates in due course . In the meantime, GES has directed Regional Directors to ensure that all relevant stakeholders, including school authorities, teachers, students, and parents, are well-informed to facilitate adequate preparation for the exams.
These examinations play a crucial role in determining students’ progression in the education system. The BECE serves as the gateway to senior high schools and technical institutions, while the WASSCE is essential for university and tertiary education admissions.
