Wesley Grammar School Marks 70th Anniversary with Grand Ceremony at the School Quadrangle Grounds

The School Quadrangle Grounds of Wesley Grammar School came alive with excitement and pride as students, alumni, staff, and distinguished guests gathered to celebrate the school’s 70th Anniversary Ceremony. The milestone event commemorated seven decades of academic excellence, discipline, and holistic Methodist education.

The colourful ceremony brought together members of the Wesley Grammar School Old Students Association (WESGOSA), stakeholders in education, and well-wishers who assembled to honour the legacy and achievements of the institution since its establishment.

Celebrating 70 Years of Holistic Education

The celebration was held under the theme:
Reminiscing 70 Years of Holistic Methodist Education; the Role of Stakeholders in Embracing New Technology for the Future.
The theme emphasized the importance of reflecting on the school’s rich history while encouraging stakeholders to support innovation and technological advancement in education to prepare students for the future.
Speakers at the ceremony highlighted the school’s long-standing tradition of nurturing disciplined and academically excellent individuals who have gone on to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Distinguished Personalities in Attendance

The ceremony was chaired by Justina Nelson, Chief Executive Officer of Minerals Income Investment Fund and a proud member of the 1992 year group of WESGOSA.. In her remarks, she encouraged stakeholders and alumni to continue supporting the school’s development and to invest in modern educational infrastructure.

Also present at the event was Her Excellency Rebecca Akufo-Addo, a Life Patron of the Alumni Association and a member of the 1969 year group of WESGOSA, who attended as a Special Guest. Her presence reflected the strong bond between the school and its alumni community.
A Celebration of Legacy
The ceremony featured speeches, reflections on the history of Wesley Grammar School and appreciation for the founders, past headmasters, teachers, and alumni whose dedication has sustained the institution over the past seventy years.
Students also entertained guests with cultural performances and musical interludes that added colour to the celebration and showcased the vibrant spirit of the school community.
