INDECE Akwaaba Fest 2026 Celebrates Culture, Commerce, and Community at KNUST
The Independence Hall (INDECE) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) came alive on 16th–17th January 2026 as it hosted the much-anticipated INDECE Akwaaba Fest 2026. The festival, held at the Forecourt of Independence Hall, brought together students, entrepreneurs, creatives, and corporate brands for two days of vibrant culture, entertainment, and commerce.
Akwaaba Fest is renowned for celebrating creativity, community, and business innovation, and this year’s edition did not disappoint. Attendees enjoyed a rich mix of live music, performances, art displays, and interactive activities, creating a lively atmosphere that highlighted the diverse talents and entrepreneurial spirit of the KNUST community.
Vendors from across the country showcased a wide range of products and services, from gourmet food offerings to fashion, crafts, and lifestyle brands. The festival provided them with high visibility and direct engagement with students and visitors, resulting in bustling stalls and impressive sales.
The 2026 edition was proudly headlined by MTN, with additional support from Campus Hype Crew and TKG – The KNUST Gazette, ensuring a well-coordinated and high-profile event. Their involvement added credibility to the festival and enhanced the experience for all participants.
Festival-goers also had the chance to participate in networking sessions, competitions, and cultural exhibitions, creating opportunities for collaboration, learning, and exposure. Students praised the event for fostering unity, creativity, and community engagement within the campus environment.
The organizers emphasized that the festival is more than just entertainment—it is a platform for nurturing entrepreneurship, showcasing talent, and strengthening ties within the KNUST community and beyond.
