The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has announced a call for applications for the Hulede Foundation Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year. The scholarship is aimed at supporting brilliant but financially needy students to enable them to continue and successfully complete their university education.

The Hulede Foundation Scholarship is a one-year award open to continuing Ghanaian students of KNUST who are enrolled in full-time regular programmes. The application window is currently open and will close on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship is open to continuing Ghanaian students who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need.

Fresh Applicants (First-time Applicants):
Eligible applicants must be regular continuing students with a Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) of 65 or higher. First-year students are not eligible to apply, as their fees are covered under the government’s No Fees Stress Policy. Final-year students applying for the scholarship for the first time are required to complete 40 hours of community service and submit proof by the stated deadline. Such applicants are to collect a Hulede Foundation T-shirt from the Directorate of Student Affairs, which must be worn during the community service.

Former Beneficiaries (Renewal Applicants):
Applicants seeking renewal of the scholarship must have fulfilled community service requirements. Prospective final-year beneficiaries must complete a minimum of 80 hours of community service, while all other returning scholars must complete at least 40 hours, with relevant submissions provided.

Application Requirements

Applicants are required to submit the following documents as part of their application:

  • An endorsed academic transcript
  • A one-page statement explaining financial need and why the applicant should be considered for the scholarship
  • At least two recommendation letters
  • Copies of other awards or certificates, if available

Applicants are advised that any written submission must be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, and double-spaced.

Important Information

The Hulede Foundation has noted that applicants who follow the Foundation on its social media platforms may be given priority consideration. Additionally, only shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview.
