Cancelled and Withheld Results

Following investigations into cases of irregularities during the examination and marking process, WAEC, through the 36th Meeting of the Final Awards and Examiners’ Appointment Committee, approved the following sanctions:

  • 718 candidates had subject results cancelled
  • 177 candidates had entire results cancelled
  • 1,240 candidates had subject results withheld
  • 93 candidates had entire results withheld

This brings the total to 895 cancelled results and 1,333 withheld results.

Accessing Withheld or Cancelled Results

Candidates affected by withheld or cancelled results are advised to visit https://irreg.waec.org or click on the “withheld/cancelled results” button on the WAEC homepage for details regarding the reason for the action and guidance on the next steps. School heads may also access this information through their official logins.

WAEC’s Advisory

WAEC cautioned candidates and the public against engaging with fraudsters who claim they can upgrade results for a fee, stressing that its results database is secure, tamper-proof, and verifiable.

Appreciation

The Council expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, security agencies, school heads, invigilators, examiners, and all stakeholders for their support in the successful conduct of the 2025 BECE and the release of results.
