The University of Ghana has announced an extension of its Amnesty Programme for undergraduate final-year students whose studentships have expired.
This initiative now covers the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic years, offering eligible students an opportunity to re-sit outstanding or failed courses and finally graduate.
Who is Eligible?
The programme is open to undergraduate final-year students who were supposed to graduate between the 2000/2001 and 2019/2020 academic years but could not do so due to the expiration of their studentship. If you fall within this category, you are eligible to apply.
How to Apply for the Amnesty Programme
1. Registration of Interest
- Interested students must register their outstanding or failed courses using the Students’ Portal (STS).
- You will need your University of Ghana Student ID Number and MIS Web PIN.
- Click here if you do not have your ID number or PIN.
- After registration, visit your relevant Department with proof of registration to get details on course arrangements before the semester begins. Department Heads or Examination Officers can assist with replacements for phased-out courses.
2. Deadline for Course Registration
- The deadline for registering courses for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year is Friday, 22nd November 2024. Ensure you complete your registration before this date.
3. Schedule of Fees
- Details on fees and payment methods can be accessed HERE.
4. Provisional Identification Cards
- After successful course registration, visit your college to collect your provisional ID cards at no cost.

Key Expectations
- You are required to fully participate in lectures for all registered courses to be eligible for examinations.
- Compliance with the University of Ghana Regulations for Junior Members 2017 is mandatory.
Important Notes:
- No exam access will be granted if you do not contact your department for course outlines, lectures, and Interim Assessment (IA).
- Supplementary re-sit examinations are not allowed under this programme.
- The programme is only for students who completed their final year but could not graduate. Those who did not complete their final year are not eligible.
