Special Excellence Awards Scheme Takes Shape

A courtesy call was paid on the Mamponghene, Daasebre Nana Osei Bonsu II, by the Selection Committee of the Special Excellence Awards Scheme. This visit was to officially inform him about the initiative and seek his acceptance, paving the way for the university to proceed with the scheme.

The committee was represented by Mr. Anthony Adjapong, Deputy Registrar of the College of Art and Built Environment (CABE), who mentioned that the visit was a follow-up to an earlier letter sent to the Mamponghene. This move is part of the Registrar, Mr. Andrews Kwasi Boateng’s, vision to motivate staff for creativity and dedicated service to the university.

The Special Excellence Awards Scheme is established for the Staff of the Registrar’s Offices. The awards are categorized into three main honors:

  • Leadership Award: Named after Daasebre Nana Osei Bonsu II
  • Sophia Quashie-Sam Award for Service: Honoring exceptional service
  • Kobby Yebo-Okrah Award for Creativity and Innovation: Recognizing innovative and creative contributions

The maiden edition of the awards is scheduled to take place on June 13, 2025.
