The Ministry of Education (MoE) has unveiled a redesigned School Placement Portal ahead of the release of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results and subsequent placements.

According to Ghana Education News, the new portal is more professional, user-friendly, and visually appealing compared to the previous version. The homepage incorporates the colours of the Ghana flag, red, yellow, and green, with green dominating the design. This marks the first major redesign of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) in eight years. Unlike past years, when the site would go offline shortly after placements, the 2025 portal has remained active and accessible well ahead of the release of results.

Key Features of the New Portal

  1. Loading Page
Visitors are welcomed with a green background displaying “CSSPS 2025” in gold at the centre until the page fully loads.
  2. Helpline
A dedicated helpline section has been added at the top left of the page. Although the official phone number has not yet been included, an updated email address help@cssps.gov.gh is available for enquiries.
  3. CSSPS Logo
The redesigned logo, which combines the Ghana Coat of Arms with the CSSPS inscription, is prominently displayed below the helpline.
  4. Menu Section
Navigation has been simplified with clearly outlined menu options: Home, FAQs, Check Placement, Support Centre.
  5. Check Placement Button
In addition to the menu option, a bright yellow “Check Placement” button is positioned at the top right of the homepage. On click, the button changes colour from yellow to red, enhancing visibility.
  6. Welcome to CSSPS Section
A bold “Welcome to CSSPS” banner features three students in green-and-yellow uniforms. The portal’s vision “Smart, Fair & Transparent SHS/TVET Placement” is displayed to reassure users of credibility and fairness.
  7. Trusted and Transparent Message
Positioned at the centre of the homepage, this section emphasises CSSPS’s reliability with messages such as “Trusted by Parents” and “Transparent Processes”.
  8. Footer Information
The footer outlines the purpose of CSSPS, its functions, and includes social media links and contact details.
  9. Interactive Cursor
A green-shaded cursor adds a unique aesthetic effect, following user movements across the page.
  10. Placement Checking Page
Clicking any of the three “Check Placement” buttons redirects users to the login page at www.cssps.gov.gh/hub/login. The interface is clean and features a login form requiring:
    • BECE Index Number (10-digit, followed by the last two digits of the exam year, e.g., 100000000025).
    • Special Access Code, which the Ministry has indicated will be free. This may be the candidate’s date of birth or BECE school code, with final confirmation expected soon.

How to Check Placement on the New Portal

  1. Visit the official portal: www.cssps.gov.gh/hub/login.
  2. Enter your 10-digit BECE index number plus the last two digits of the exam year.
  3. Input your free access code, which will be provided via SMS.
  4. Click Sign In to view your placement.
  5. Print the placement details as a PDF for record-keeping.

Other Updates

At the time of reporting (September 18, 2025), the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and Contact sections of the portal were not yet functional. Meanwhile, the sale of WAEC result checker cards for the 2025 BECE will be announced separately when available.
