The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) will host the 13th Edition of the RP Baffour Memorial Lecture Series, focusing on one of the most pressing issues of our time: the rise of artificial intelligence.

This year’s theme, “Super Intelligent AI Agents: An Existential Threat to the Human Race? Navigating Through the Intricacies of the AI Revolution,” will explore the promises, risks, and uncertainties surrounding AI advancements.

The lectures will be delivered by Dr. Mercy Nyamewaa Asiedu, a US-based Biomedical Engineer, Senior Research Scientist at Google Research, and the inventor of the Callascope, an innovative device that has transformed women’s health diagnostics.

The Memorial Lecture Series will unfold over two days at the Great Hall, KNUST, featuring three thought-provoking sessions:

The lecture series will culminate in the 59th Congregation of the University, to be held on Saturday, 29th November 2025 at 10:00 a.m., also at the Great Hall.
