KNUST Student’s Murder Trial Adjourned to September 15.
The trial of Daniel Tuffuor, a 21-year-old final-year student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) who was accused of murdering his girlfriend, Joana Deladem Yabani, has been adjourned to September 15, 2025.
Tuffuor was arrested on February 27, 2025, after Joana’s lifeless body was discovered on campus earlier that morning. University security officials, upon being alerted to the incident, promptly reported it to the police.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the two were in a romantic relationship at the time of the incident. CCTV footage reportedly captured a man believed to be Tuffuor strangling Joana following an altercation.
He was subsequently arraigned before the Prempeh District Court, where proceedings have been ongoing.
Although Joana has since been laid to rest, police investigations remain active. Tuffuor continues to be held on remand as the case awaits its next hearing.
