The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has officially announced that its 59th Special Congregation Ceremony will take place from Wednesday, 25th March to Saturday, 28th March, 2026. The ceremony will bring together graduands, university officials, families, and members of the general public to celebrate the academic achievements of students who have successfully completed their programmes of study after the November 2025 congregation.

Payment of Graduation Fees

All eligible graduands are required to pay a graduation fee of GH¢600.00. Payments can be made at any KNUST-accredited bank, including GCB Bank, CBG, Cal Bank, Fidelity Bank, and OmniBSIC Bank. Alternatively, graduands may pay online through the university’s payment platform at pay.knust.edu.gh by logging in with their student credentials and selecting the graduation fees option.

The graduation fee covers several items and services, including congregation publications, a graduation medal, certificate holder, university souvenirs, graduation photographs, and administrative costs.

When making payment at the bank, graduands are required to provide the following information:

* Full Name

* Programme of Study

* Examination Index Number

* Student ID Number

* Contact Address

* Telephone Number

* Email Address

Collection of Academic Gowns

After payment of the graduation fee, graduands must present their payment receipts to collect their academic gowns and graduation souvenirs beginning Monday, 23rd March, 2026, at the following designated locations:

 

Undergraduate and Diploma Programmes:

Independence Hall

Master’s Programmes:Republic Hall and Queen Elizabeth II Hall

* PhD Programmes: Great Hall Foyer

 

Rehearsals for the Congregation

To ensure smooth proceedings during the ceremonies, rehearsals for graduands will be held at the Great Hall, KNUST, according to the following schedule:

 

* Tuesday, 24th March 2026 at 4:00 pm: For graduands attending the ceremony on Wednesday, 25th March

* Wednesday, 25th March 2026 at 5:00 pm: For graduands attending the ceremony on Thursday, 26th March

* Thursday, 26th March 2026 at 5:00 pm: For graduands attending the ceremony on Friday, 27th March

* Friday, 27th March 2026 at 5:00 pm: For graduands attending the ceremony on Saturday, 28th March

Graduands are expected to be seated at least thirty minutes before the start of each programme. They must be properly dressed in the academic gown corresponding to their programme or college. The gown should preferably be worn over a normal suit or jacket with a university tie or other formal attire. The university has also emphasized that slippers are strictly not permitted.

Schedule of the Congregation Ceremonies

The four-day congregation will feature multiple sessions covering undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programmes across the various colleges and schools of the university.

On Wednesday, 25th March 2026, the morning session will begin at 9:00 am and will feature undergraduate graduands from the College of Health Sciences and the College of Art and Built Environment. The afternoon session at 2:00 pm will include undergraduate programmes from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, College of Engineering, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Science, and the institute of Distance Learning.

 

The Thursday, 26th March 2026 ceremonies will focus on postgraduate programmes under the School of Graduate Studies. The morning session will include graduands from the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences, and selected programmes from the KNUST School of Business, including MSc programmes in Accounting and Finance, Finance, and Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The afternoon session will feature additional postgraduate programmes, including the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and several specialized MSc programmes such as Business and Data Analytics, Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership, Health Entrepreneurship, Strategic Marketing, and Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

 

On Friday, 27th March 2026, the morning session will involve postgraduate programmes across the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, College of Art and Built Environment, College of Engineering, College of Health Sciences, and College of Science. The afternoon session will feature postgraduate programmes offered through the Institute of Distance Learning, including the Commonwealth Executive MBA, Commonwealth MBA, MSc Development Management, MSc Strategic Management and Leadership, and several other specialized programmes.

 

The final ceremony will be held on Saturday, 28th March 2026, beginning at 10:00 am. This session will celebrate graduands from the MPhil, MFA, M.Arch, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes.

Live Streaming of the Ceremony

To enable wider participation, the 59th Special Congregation will be streamed live on the university’s media platforms. The ceremony will be broadcast on Tek TV as well as the official KNUSTGH channels on YouTube, Facebook, and X (Twitter). It will also be accessible through the university’s official website.

The congregation remains one of the most significant events in the academic calendar of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, celebrating the hard work, dedication, and achievements of its graduating students while marking another milestone in the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.
